FAQs

1. Where can I get a Swaraj Genesis NFT?

The Genesis Volume (1) NFT mint auction will be live for 1 week on this website sometime in the 2nd week of August 2022. Prior to the drop, we're building an immersive gallery experience where the 32 NFTs will be showcased in all their glory before the auction begins.

2. Which blockchain are you minting on?

The Genesis NFTs will be minted on the Ethereum blockchain as ERC-721 tokens. However, the gallery pass airdrop NFTs are being minted on the Polygon network.

3. How many NFTs will the Genesis Collection have?

The Genesis Collection is a 5-part series. Vol (1) will have 32 unique audio-visual NFTs meaning 32 unique songs, each coupled with a stunning visual interpretation. It is a cross-country collaborative effort featuring some of India's finest independent acts.

4. What is the price of each NFT?

The reserve price at the start of the auction would be 0.2 ETH. Secondary prices may vary.

5. What secondary markets will list Swaraj NFTs?

After the mint sells out, we'll be officially listing on OpenSea for secondary sales. 10% of the secondary sale amount will be disbursed amongst the various Swaraj stakeholders with 75% going to Swaraj Artists and 25% going to the Swaraj Treasury.

6. What do I get if I buy a Swaraj Genesis NFT?

While being amazing works of art in their own right, Genesis collectors will also be granted access to various utility drops rooted in digital as well as physical experiences. While details will be revealed closer to the drop, some of the utility ideas we are toying with are stem-based fan co-creation and remixing tools, premium apparel with uniqueness and rarity at its core, IRL + metaverse concerts, and B-side NFT airdrops among others.

7. Why should I mint a Swaraj NFT?

At Swaraj, we're trying to build a lean-in experience around music. You should mint a Swaraj NFT if you want to look beyond the rigid vessels of music consumptions on offer today while having a chance to invest in the success of a promising collective of independent artists.

8. What if the NFTs are sold out?

You can pick up an NFT on the secondary market. We will list our collection on OpenSea for secondary sales.

9. Do the NFTs come with commercial rights to the collectors?

Collectors receive a CC BY-SA license for the underlying beat, this allows collectors to remix and redistribute the beat with attribution to the original artist(s). Swaraj will be creating on-chain tools to make remixing and co-creation easily accessible and fun for collectors. Owners of the NFTs are granted the license to download, access and use the art associated with their NFTs for non-commercial purposes, and to market and sell their purchased NFTs.

10. How is the project's CO2 footprint being addressed?

A portion of all revenue also goes towards offsetting the carbon footprint of this project using the sustainability platform Aerial.
